I installed a replacement ceiling fan (Hunter). All works fine, except that if you turn it on and off by the?
standard wall switch, it starts up in reverse every time, and you have to reverse directions to get it back into summer fan rather than winter updraft mode. I don't see any switch to change this behavior permanently instead of each time. Any ideas? I believe I followed the wiring instructions to a T.
Yes, there is a remote - that is how I reverse the directions. And if I keep the wall switch on, and use the remote for on/off, no problems. But someone always comes along and uses the wall switch eventually…
I do know your problem. I have a Hunter fan and you do not have a wiring problem! It works fine with the remote but you can't seem to reverse it from the switch. Try this out! You should have a power, light and fan switch on the wall. There will be three little switches for each of these. All you have to do is hit the fan and light switch at the same time and in about a second or two, you will hear two tones that will go off three times. The fan will reverse itself in the opposite direction. Make sure that you have the fan on so you can see that it does reverse. Dollars to doughnuts this will work!!! Good Luck!!!
Who makes ceiling fan light dimmer fan timer?
I have a ceiling fan with light that I control from wall swtch. Does someone know of the same thing, but with timer too, so I don't leave it (fan)on all night?
Yes go to hampton bay com,You will have to get a remote control, your current fan probably wont, you would have to buy a transmitter along with the remote. The transmitter ,you would have to take yours down and tuck it in with the wires on top.I just bought a Hampton Bay fan and light with a remote control,I love it.
How do you connect wiring inside ceiling fan?
The fan is an old hampton bay, and the wiring has been disconnected below the motor, where the light fixture goes. It has a capacitor with two leads, and besides the black and white wire coming down through the central pipe, it has a blue lead (which goes to the pull chain switch), light brown, gray, yellow, blue and red. The reversing switch is cooked, and fell apart during removal.
Is it possible to omit the reversing switch? And, which wires hook up to which? Detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated. If anyone could hook me up with a schematic, that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
go to walmart and spend $14.99 on a new one
