How to Fix Ceiling Fan Light?

I just moved into a new house and in my bedroom their is an ordinary ceiling fan with a light. It worked great for about 3 weeks. Then one day I went into my bedroom, turned on the switch, and the light went on for half a second then quickly shut-off. My fan works fine but my light wont turn on? I’ve replaced all of the bulbs but that doesn’t help either. Help Please!!

Most Ceiling Fans come with a replaceable light fixture. Turn the power off at the breaker, remove the bulbs and globes and there should either be some small screws or a big nut holding the light fixture on the fan. Remove this and make a note of what wires are connected to what (usually a white to a white, and a blue to a blue or black) and take the fixture with you to a home improvement store. Show them what you have and get a replacement. Simply reverse the process to install the new light. Feel free to email if you have any more questions.

canyou fit a light to an existing ceiling fan?

I have a ceiling fan and there is a gold plastic screw in piece at the base and I noticed in bunnings that they have a ceiling fan light that the screw in piece looks about the same size thread .I realise that it would have to be wired in and would it cost much more to do this? I havent had the fan installed yet.

You can purchase a light kit for your fan. The wires usually just plug in. The blue and black need to get attached to the black wire from the ceiling. Very easy to install. Install the light after the fan is on the ceiling.

My ceiling fan or light will not come on?

I have a ceiling fan that will not come on. The light will not come on either. I have checked the switch and there is power going to it and there is power going to the unit itself. The bulb is good on the light but I can’t figure out why the heck it aint working and its getting annoying. Can someone help?

loose neutral….that’s the wire that is tied into the white wire coming from the fan….it also should be white…..
