Thanks for the … Thanks for the advice. The windings have a resistance of a little over 100 ohms, so there won’t be a lot of current. I’m hoping to get a good amount of voltage with the magnets I am using so I know I can back off on windings and go with a larger diameter wire if I have to.
You might not get … You might not get much current, but I bet you get good voltage if you use good magnets. Then you can just use a MPPT charge controller to get the voltage and current you really want. I’d play with it before you rewind it.
I measured the … I measured the resistance of the coils to be just over 100 ohms so I won’t be pumping a lot of current through it. I want to use the existing coils for two things:
1) to see if I get “cogging” when I put the magnets in. (Hopefully in the next few days)
2) to see how much voltage it develops and then count the turns to get an idea of how many turns I will need when I rewind it.
You got it, just … You got it, just like a squirrel cage, inside-out. I’m also trying to use a ceiling fan motor in a generator arrangement. I’ll have to rewind all those coils with at least 20AWG magnet wire to get the current I want though : ) Thanks for posting.
hey, cool video. If … hey, cool video. If you would like to get this video more exposure I use thetubeviews . [com], you should check them out sometime
you get 5 Stars … you get 5 Stars from me for the motivatedeffort, it is going to be fun to watch your project, now that you started.
the encouragement will keep comming even if you terminated the project with no result, great idea, thanks
