Why do some pubs and shops/barbours etc take their ceiling fans away?

I’ve always kind of wondered this, I live in the UK and I remember years ago I would walk into the barbours to get my hair cut in the summer time and there was a ceiling fan that was always rotating and keeping me cool, then one day I went back and it was gone and replaced with a crappy old light, this doesn’t really bother me but im just curious i suppose, why is this?

Dust maybe, mot being able to clean properly due to hair and particles flying arouns.

Question for people with ceiling fans in their rooms?
