Hunter Original Ceiling Fan

Hunter Original 52″ oil bath ceiling fan in brown/polished brass. This is supposedly one of the early 3 speed/electrically reversible ones. The blade arms are totally out of whack after being at the place it was, thus it wobbles horrendously. There is red and some green paint all over the fan, and the canopy is totally red.

Yes, you need one, lol. I’m so happy I finally got one, for a pretty penny too. It was really worth the money though.

BTW, correction on my comment. The white fans DO look cheap made and I agree that Hunter Originals are one of the best ever made.

Too bad you couldn’t get the old fans. Originals are the BEST residential type fans ever made.

They used to have ceiling fans just like this one in two Pizza Hut locations in my area but when they rememodelled they did away with them. One location now has white ceiling fans that don’t look cheap made and the other location has no ceiling fans at all. I wished I would have tried to get the old ones.

Yes, on the vacation when I got this fan I was able to go to Dan’s Fan City and fiddle around with a Hotel Original. Nice fans, despite not being American made. They also had the antique version, also very cool.

    Nice Original and …
Nice Original and what a nice start-up sound it has! There is a special model of the Original that I bought just last year. It’s called the “Hotel Original with Adapt Air” It replicates those fans that Hunter installed in Hotels in the 1930’s and features the Adapt Air function from the 1930’s, invented before electrically reversible motors came into being. Unfortunately, like today’s Original’s, it is made in China and has the skeletal motor like today’s Originals, but I still think it’s nice.

AB is my absolute fav, with brown/PB following close behind. I can’t get the brackets on this thing to budge back into place, IDK what to do. It’s not as if people care about the blades when they’re removing the fan either, but they should. On HGTV people lift the NEW fans they’re putting in by the blades. What idiots!

NICE! What is your favorite finish for a Hunter Original?
The bent brackets problem is always so ANNOYING and happens to often because peoples DON’T know that you HAVE to take off all the blades on a ceiling fan before totally taking the fan. down. Arghh!
