Roughly how much should I expect to pay to have a ceiling fan pre-wire installed?

I live in the Northeast and am looking for estimates for what I should expect to pay for the following:
1. Remove existing switch box and install a new 2 gang switch box for 2 switches
2. Install a new ceiling fan support box
3. Install new wiring for fan/light
Note - ceiling fan installation is not included
I don’t know but get someone who is licensed and bonded………and make sure your home insurance is up to date…..they will more that likely charge by the hour…..many do free estimates……and there are always variables………..that may/can change the end of job price……..
But a reputable dude, should be able to give you a rough estimate and still be reasonable but be careful, people get taken all the time……….good luck…………

Depends on how difficult the new wire and support box is to install. I’m sure they will charge an hourly rate - this should take a couple of hours to complete.

Way too many variables to give you an accurate estimate. Depends on how far the wire has to be run, what’s in between the switch box and the fan box, if the box is going to be in the attic it’s fairly simple, if it’s between the first and second floor it’s a lot more work. Get a few estimates, make sure whoever you get is licensed and insured and has some references.

I paid $125.00 in California a few years back to have ceiling fans installed. It is cheaper to get the remote wall switch because the switch box will work off battery (the con to this is that the frequency can be the same as a neighbor so the lights and fan sometimes turn on for no reason, this is usually the case in the middle of the night at our house). Otherwise you are probably looking at $100.00 per item above.
